Forklift Operator

American Falls, Idaho | Full-Time

Role Summary:

Load finished packaged product to railcars or reefers by following customer order. Responsible for coordinating with Shipping supervisor to follow FIFO policy. Also in charge of ensuring product is loaded safely.

Essential Role Functions:

Reads and knows production schedule, customer order, and shipping orders to determine potatoes to be moved gathered, and distributed. Takes potatoes from stacking areas to storage, semi trailer, rail car, or to other designated areas. Places orders on pallets and conveys orders to loading station or shipping department. Records amounts of potatoes loaded. Responsible to inspect and help maintain forklifts in an acceptable fashion. Responsible to drive forklift in a safe manner to insure the safety of all warehouse employees. May have to restack finished product if needed (50 lbs)

Education And Training For This Role:

High school education; or up to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills Needed For This Role:

  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Must know enough English to complete a job application and understand simple directions from supervisor
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
